a White Ribbon Day Email!!
To help celebrate Massachusetts White Ribbon Day, we are encouraging
local events organized around the issuance of a city/town/county
proclamation.
Public activities and visible celebrations of men’s and boy’s commitment
and leadership can help stop sexual assault, domestic violence and
violence against women before it starts.
You can get started by contacting the Jane Doe Inc. member organization
in your area and find out if they are planning an event.
These public events give us opportunities to interrupt the social
norms, such as learned behavior about power and control, stereotypes
and gender dynamics, which result in violent behaviors including
sexual assault and domestic violence.
Looking for other inspiration? We’ve put together a sampling of
community projects that aim to bring about social change and help
create a world free of abuse.
Year round sampling of projects
As you read through these pages, you’ll see that some of these activities
can be done on your own, while others require connecting with other
men and boys. The ideas provided here are meant to be jumping off
points.
There are many ways to conduct a White Ribbon Campaign and to engage
men and boys in conversation and action about these issues. We’re
excited to learn from you.
