Love is Respect and Safety
Happy Valentine's Day!!!
We are one week closer to White Ribbon Day, and with your help, the momentum is building. Cities, towns, police departments, schools, youth groups and more are signing on. Thanks to the father-son team of Imad and Jacob Sandakly, we have a great new PSA that you can show others.
Valentine's Day offers another opportunity to talk about the meaning of White Ribbon as an affirmation that safety and respect are the only basis for romance and love. Whether or not you celebrate this holiday, you can share with others why you care about creating a society free of gendered violence. Invite the men you know to show their commitment to the cause by partaking in WRD this year! You can also show your support by attending a local production of The Vagina Monologues; these annual V-Day events raise money for programs working to end sexual and domestic violence, human trafficking and exploitation of women and girls.
Two Pre-WRD Basketball Events:
On Tuesday, February 15th, Northeastern University is having a White Ribbon Day proclamation event for half-time at its basketball game against Delaware. Tip-off is at 7 PM.
On February 23rd, UMass Amherst is having a White Ribbon Day proclamation event for half-time at their basketball game against Saint Joeseph's. Tip-off is at 7 PM.
Your participation as a White Ribbon Day Ambassador sends a powerful message to your family and friends about the value of men and women working together to achieve freedom from the violence and oppression in our homes and communities that affects all of us.
And don't forget to sign up as a Fan on our Facebook page and invite your friends to join you.
With your help, we’ll reach many more men and boys across the Commonwealth with this important message of non-violence, respect and full human rights.
